Hospice Hope
Folk On The Farm’s community choir, Roots, was out in force during a pre-Christmas carol tour which resulted in £171.43 being raised for local charity, Hospice Hope.
Sixteen members and friends visited local pubs in the area singing a mixture of harmony folk carols and established favourites which encouraged audience participation.
The choir, which meets at 7.00 pm on Tuesday evenings in Newbold, Coleorton primary school annex, was only established a year ago and was delighted by the success of the event and the appreciative audience feedback.
At the first practice session of the New Year, choir member, Ann Dawson and an active member of the Hospice Hope committee, presented a certificate of thanks to chairman, Madeleine McCormick and gig secretary, Ruth Gillespie who organised the carol tour.
