For the first time ever, ROOTS Community Singers took part in the very popular Community Choirs Festival at Stratford upon Avon. The choir, many of which sported the new t-shirts, joined 21 other choirs the combined total of singers amounting to 500 which made a wonderful sound in the Levi Fox hall of the local grammar school.
We were taught four part harmonies by four very accomplished leaders to a wide range of songs and finished by taking part in a concert where individual choirs performed one song of their choice. Roots sang a beautifully spiritual song by John Rebourne called Travellers Prayer which was arranged by musical director, Willow Songsmith.
