    As part of the 2019 Ashby Arts Festival Roots Community Singers is organising an exciting new harmony singing day. Unison In Harmony – Festival Of Voices will be led by the renown folk group THE TEACUP TRIO who will teach a range of songs during a morning workshop which will be followed by an optional afternoon showcasing concert.     Christmas is coming and Roots Community Singers are gearing up for a great concert of seasonal songs, music, poetry and prose from the folk genre. The concert will be held at the Venture Theatre, Ashby de la Zouch on Tuesday, 18th December, 7.30 pm with proceeds donated to ‘Shelter.’  Tickets are £8.     The Only Remembered tribute concert to those who served in the Great War by Roots Community Singers proved a huge success with the Charles Booth centre at Thringstone packed to capacity. The choir put on an anti-war show paying tribute to the men, women and animals that served and died in the First World War to a back drop of evocative images which played throughout the concert.
