ROOTLINGS At St Joseph’s Tea-Rooms

rootlingswebAs there were only seven of us we could hardly be termed a choir so for this little gig so we became ROOTLINGS and what a lovely event it proved to be.
The brain child of Pete Burnham, who keeps the Leicestershire Folk Diary, the event began with a pleasant walk to Blackbrook resorvoir.  Returning to St Joseph’s tea-rooms, Whitwick for a hearty lunch of homemade soup, the sing-a-round took place in the café’s adjoining lounge and featured an eclectic range of traditional and contemporary songs.
ROOTLINGS sang Unison In Harmony and Nelson’s Blood which were well received by the company who joined in enthusiastically with the chorus!
The photo shows four ROOTLINGS with Pete Burnham.
